Looking to boost your immune system during the pandemic? Switch to Desi Cow A2 milk!

If there’s one thing to take away from the current situation, it is that there’s no compromise where health is concerned! The stronger your immune system, the better your chances of staying infection-free and healthy. Apart from supplements and regular exercise, your diet is key. What you eat is directly proportional to how healthy you are. Speaking of which, let’s break down the products that are consumed regularly, which make a difference. Dairy products are a popular dietary staple in most households. Be it with tea, in cooking, or other items. While regular desi milk is a great choice, you might want to consider switching to A2 milk. Haven’t you heard of it? We are here to explain. A2 desi milk is composed of beta-casein and contains the a2 variant. Cows produce both the A1 and the A2 variant however, the milk you receive at your grocery stores are mostly the A1 variant. Desi cows, compared to European cows, produce a much less quantity of milk, making the A1 variant cheaper to sell.   Historically, cows would have more of the A2 variant, but due to human intervention, they now produce more of the A1 variant. For several people, the A2 variant is a lot simpler to digest. It is observed that most infants have milk protein allergies, which A2 milk can help prevent. Even though the milk contains lactose, according to research, candidates who are lactose intolerant have had fewer side effects with A2 milk. A2 milk is known to help with conditions such as bloating, diarrhoea and other gastrointestinal issues usually caused by a reaction to the A1 variant. Along with this, every glass of A2 milk contains 8 grams of protein which help replenish your body and muscles. While your daily diet may not include the intake of essential vitamins and minerals, A2 milk helps ensure you get it all in! Along with phosphorus, potassium and riboflavin, desi A2 milk guarantees 12% more protein,33% more Vitamin D, 25% more Vitamin A,30% more Cream and 15% more Calcium. Speaking of calcium, rest assured that your bones stay strong and healthy, with the right amount of calcium intake with every glass of milk! One of the most important factors to consider is that Desi A2 milk is made in India, and is free of antibiotics and hormones. As mentioned earlier, A2 milk is the purest and most natural form of milk received from cows. This means that it is absent of human interference and is derived from cows which are well looked after. With so many health benefits, with its versatility, good taste and easy consumption, we think making the switch today to A2 milk is a wise choice. It might be a little more expensive, but worth it. While looking after yourself, you are also looking after the well-being of the cows. With the pandemic being a constant cause of concern, stay safe and help your body fight it with a healthy, clean dairy alternative!

How To Maintain The Quality Of Your Milk In The Rainy Season?

With the onset of monsoons, hygiene, milk quality, and growing microbes are the major concerns of every dairy consumer – and rightly so! No one wants to put themselves or more importantly, their families at risk, especially in a time like the one we’re living in! With the ongoing pandemic, we strive to make every attempt to ensure that we put our families at minimum risk of any health issue.  Being one of the most notable dairy farms in town, we want to take you through some simple ways to keep your milk fresh longer during this season and avoid the possibility of bacteria. Let’s understand how monsoons impact Desi Cow Milk quality. You might have noticed that your desi cow milk seems to be of a slightly more watery consistency during the rainy season and tends to spoil sooner if kept outside the refrigerator. Though the milk production and packaging remain the same at the farm, the difference is with the fodder. As our cows graze on the fresh green grass of the season, the water content in milk tends to increase. However, the nutrient value remains the same. Your A2 milk or Gir cow milk retains all its vitamins, minerals and essential fats, with the same taste and aroma, making it perfectly safe to consume desi cow milk from fresh dairy farms even during the rainy seasons. Moreover, we would like to share a few steps that you can use to ensure its longer shelf life. ●      If you are habitual of using thicker milk, consume the milk only after boiling it to remove the additional natural water from milk during this season. ●      Try consuming your raw A2 milk within a day during monsoons or, if leftover, boil it up to store for the next day. With a humid climate, keeping any food item sitting longer increases the risk of breeding microorganisms. ●      It is advisable to boil milk, if not kept at a temp below 37°C at all times, as monsoons provide a favourable environment for the growth of many microbes. ●      Boiling milk once every few hours has been an age-old tradition in our households to keep milk fresh longer (for when refrigeration is not available). ●      You can make curd or yoghurt from your leftovers of the day to avoid the risk of milk spoiling. Curd and other milk products have longer shelf life than raw milk and provide an easy way to escape spoiled milk yet gain pure desi cow milk nutrients. ●      Maintain general hygiene, especially in your kitchen and fridge area. It is best to keep the area dry. More so, during monsoons, you can avoid the chances of bacterial contamination. If you still have any concerns regarding your dairy farm or A2 milk, or Gir cow milk for this rainy season, please reach out. Our team would be happy to help.

What is Somatic cell count & how it affects the milk quality

Early twentieth century, dairy farmers needed a way to measure milk quality. Dairy farmers could not improve the quality of care for their cows if they didn’t have an effective measurement to determine positive and negative changes for improving milk quality. Counting the number of cells in milk became the imperative to measure milk quality and was called somatic cell count, SCC. Somatic is defined as being related to the body. Somatic cell count can be translated to literally mean “bodily cell count” or the number of cells in milk.  The SCC is quantified as the number of cells per ml of milk. In general terms: An individual cow SCC of 100,000 or less indicates an ‘uninfected’ cow, where there are no significant production losses due to subclinical mastitis. A threshold SCC of 200,000 would determine whether a cow is infected with mastitis. Cows with a result of greater than 200,000 are highly likely to be infected on at least one quarter. Cows infected with significant pathogens have an SCC of 300,000 or greater. At Mr. Milk, – Mittal Happy Cows Dairy Farms, our somatic cell count is way lesser than the recommended range! This ensures farm-fresh purest A2 Desi Cow Milk delivered at your doorstep.  Basically, somatic cell count, SCC, indicates milk quality. Lower the SCC, higher the milk quality & vice versa.  The SCC shows the amount of white blood cells that are present in milk. A higher presence of white blood cells means the cow is sending more cells to her udder to guard or fight off invading micro-organisms. Essentially, a lower SCC indicates better animal health, as somatic cells originate only from inside the animal’s udder. SCC monitoring is important because as the number of somatic cells increases, milk yield is likely to fall, primarily due to the damage to milk-producing tissue in the udder. It could be the cause of low immunity of the cow, or any infection caught by her. Hence, it is really important to have SCC of the milk you are drinking is very less & within the range. Since high SCC milk is not recommended for human consumption. Lastly,  Don’t be grossed out that the white blood cells are into the milk. Remember SCC is just a measurement tool used by dairy farmers to indicate milk quality and udder health. The goal of the dairy owner is to reduce the cow’s exposure to stress and bacteria. SCC shows him how he is doing. White blood cells are in all animal products. Meat has white blood cells in it because there’s blood, and white blood cells are in blood. You don’t know about it because it’s not measured in meat. There are other methods to measure quality. It’s nothing to be grossed out about. Thanks for reading the article till the end & hope we brought joy & peace to you by bringing you the best A2 Desi Cow Milk in town by Mr Milk, which guarantees & vouches for its purity & comes as it is, directly from mother nature.
